Hello and welcome to my Internet pied-à-terre!

I am a native Californian with a peripatetic soul. I'm also a freelance journalist, book author, champagne lover, and committed Francophile.

My travel and lifestyle articles have appeared in the New York Times, National Geographic Traveler, Virtuoso: The Magazine, Saturday Evening Post, AFAR, AARP, Hemispheres, Marriott Bonvoy Traveler, Ciao Bambino, CN Traveler. My personal travel essays have appeared in "The Best Women’s Travel Writing" and other anthologies.

I am the author of several guidebooks as well as "Walnut Wine & Truffle Groves," a culinary travel book about the people and food of the Dordogne region of France. It received a GOLD Lowell Thomas Award in 2012, presented by the Society of American Travel Writers Foundation. Sadly, the book is now out of print, but I have copies (many copies) if you're interested.

I was part of a team of contributing writers to National Geographic’s "Great Outdoors U.S.A,” a meaty travel tome packed with 1,000 adventures across all 50 states, released in August 2023.

.

My first children’s picture book, "Pisa Loves Bella: A Towering Tale of Kindness," will be published in June 30, 2024 by MB Publishing, and I am hard at work on book #2. I'm open to promotional opportunities, so please reach out.

When not plotting my next trip to France or around the Golden State, I'm tapping away at my keyboard, sailing, cooking, reading, hiking, binge watching TV, hosting dinner parties, and belly laughing with family and friends.

Let’s work together soon.
